Family Information For Arizona Treatment
Communication With Your Loved one
At Decision Point, our philosophy is to promote family involvement while our clients are receiving addiction treatment in Arizona. Involving the family in treatment raises the client’s chances of achieving and maintaining sobriety. We also strive to help the family system heal and restore the relationships within the family that were interrupted by the cycle of substance abuse.
Week One & Two
During the first week of treatment, we want your loved one to be able to relax and focus on treatment. The family needs this “breather”, as well. Therefore, we ask that no phone calls or visits take place unless deemed therapeutically appropriate by the Primary Therapist. If the Primary Therapist approves a phone call, the call will be supervised. Or, if your loved one and you have a family therapy session and the therapist feels it would be therapeutic for the family, then a two-hour visit will be granted. This will be either an onsite or an offsite visit as determined by the Family Therapist.
Week Three
Your family member is allowed phone privileges and a two-hour onsite or offsite visit. Prior to the offsite visit, clients are required to fill out a visitation request, which must be approved by their Case Manager.
Week Four Through Six
Your loved one is allowed up to four hours for an off-site visit. Prior to the offsite visit, clients are required to fill out a visitation request, which must be approved by their Case Manager.
