Depression Treatment in Arizona
Because Drugs and Alcohol Are Never the Answer
When getting out of bed feels impossible and the only feelings you experience are sadness and hopelessness, we understand how you might turn to drugs and alcohol to feel better. Unfortunately, these substances only offer temporary relief and tend to make things worse in the long run.
Further, they can create what is known as a co-occurring disorder or dual diagnosis. Co-occurring disorders occur when depression and addiction feed into each other, making both problems more severe. For many, dual diagnoses end in overdose or suicide.
In these situations, pursuing treatment is truly the difference between life and death. Fortunately, Decision Point Center offers a non-judgmental safe space for anyone who wants to get better.
We can help you overcome both depression and substance use disorder. All you need to do is take the first step and call us today.
We are available for you at (844) 292-5010 – call us – first we’ll listen, then we’ll help.
Symptoms of Depression
Depressive disorder, or clinical depression, is more than just feeling sad or going through a hard time. It is a serious mental health condition that changes the way you think and function and affects your everyday life.
Symptoms of depression include:
- Changes in sleep
- Changes in appetite
- Loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed
- Lack of energy and fatigue
- Hopelessness and pessimism
- Feeling guilty or worthless
- Sadness and feeling “empty”
- Anxiety and irritability
- Sluggishness or agitation
- Physical aches and pains
- Unexplained digestive problems
- Thoughts of death or suicide
- Suicide attempts
If you are suffering from 1 or more of these symptoms for at least 2 weeks, or even just 1 or 2 severe symptoms, you may be experiencing a depressive episode. Many people fighting depression are desperate for any way to feel better or erase the pain, and some of them turn to drugs and alcohol.
Co-occurring disorders are extremely common with depression. About 1/3 of adults who have a substance use disorder also suffer from depression.
At Decision Point Center, we focus on you, which means we get to the root of both your substance use disorder and your depressive episode. Click here for information on admissions.
