Arizona Self-Defense Program
Help Fight the Underlining Issue Causing Addiction
The self-defense program at Decision Point Center is designed to increase self-confidence that benefits every area of our patient's lives. As we know, many women with substance abuse issues have been severely abused and suffered trauma at the hands of others. Self-defense training is one of the keys in giving our patients a greater sense of purpose, self-confidence, and hope. This will lead to better decision making and help our patients move more forward to live productive and happy lives.
At Decision Point Center, we teach simple, easy to learn techniques and set a tone in the class of positive encouragement. Each patient's effort is acknowledged and praised so they do not feel awkward, self-conscious, or feel the pressure of having to be "perfect." We also teach the proper mental outlook and attitude which is key to success.
The self-defense program is 1-hour sessions, done once per week, for 10 weeks. This way the techniques and ideas will be more likely to stick and have a lasting effect.
