...that you should ask every center
HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M AN ADDICT?
At Decision Point we avoid labels and embrace empowerment. We also believe that not everyone’s an addict. Through our comprehensive assessments, clinical expertise, and varying levels and lengths of treatment, we’ll educate you about substance use disorders and help you arrive at your own informed conclusion. You may be an addict or just someone who needs to rethink their relationship with substances. We find that when young people decide for themselves that they want to change, seismic shifts in behavior begin to occur.
HOW DOES DECISION POINT DETERMINE MY TREATMENT PLAN?
YOU, are unique. The average intake assessment at most centers lasts several hours. Ours lasts 15 days. Our commitment to, “You-based” treatment is at the forefront of what we do. Through one of the most comprehensive assessments in the treatment world today, we create, tweak, and refine your plan to provide a treatment experience uniquely tailored to your strengths, weaknesses and condition.
WHAT IS FAILURE TO LAUNCH AND HOW DO YOU TREAT IT?
Failure to launch refers to a young person who is unable to leave the protection of the parental home to begin living independently. Whether young people succumb to substance misuse and lose the ability to focus and work effectively, or if they are self-medicating to overcome underlying mental health problems such as depression and anxiety, where you find failure to launch, you often find substance use. Decision Point assists with identity achievement, mental health disorders, functional relationship building, educational and career counseling services, and the trauma often found in young people suffering from failure to launch.
DO YOU OFFER WILDERNESS THERAPY AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
At Decision Point it’s called Outdoor Adventure and it incorporates hiking, rock-climbing, backpacking, and high and low ropes courses to challenge individuals to become the confident person they know they can be. This helps with identifying internal behavior patterns, beliefs, emotions, and core issues, while providing opportunities for learning in the areas of leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
WHAT IF THE 12 STEPS AREN’T MY CUP OF TEA?
No problem. They’re just one of many tools available to us at Decision Point and we firmly believe in attraction rather than promotion. We’ll expose you to the 12 Steps of A.A. the way they were meant to be presented, but we’ll also introduce you to solid therapeutic alternatives if you desire. We don’t place all of our eggs in one treatment basket.
CAN I AFFORD TREATMENT?
Thanks to insurance plans and financing options, more people than ever before are able to receive the treatment they need. When you call our Admissions Team, they will leave no stone unturned in finding ways for you to obtain treatment including setting up a paymemt plan that meets your needs. You can even validate your insurance coverage here.
HOW LONG WILL I BE IN TREATMENT?
Because substance use is a chronic disease, completion of our program is based on your unique needs and progress, and not on a date. While our 45-Day and 90-Day Residential Programs are good guideposts, treatment over a longer period may be prescribed if it’s needed.
