A Message from the Founder
From the beginning of my own personal recovery I have come to understand and accept that life is a series of decisions. For many of us who have suffered with addictions, compulsive behaviors and/or mental health concerns, we struggled to make functional decisions but most often our dysfunctional behaviors and thinking kept us from making those healthy choices.

Life is difficult, not impossible and sometimes you have fun…I discovered that the path to on-going recovery was often not easy. In the beginning of my recovery I needed to live in a protective and supportive recovering environment and community. This was the missing piece for me. After suffering with addictions and compulsive behaviors for 25 years, going in and out of treatment centers, I was finally able to experience recovery. I had gone to good treatment programs over the years, but eventually I was considered hopeless. While these programs were good, they did not incorporate all that we now offer at Decision Point Center. Throughout the years I studied, experienced and developed many treatment philosophies. My conclusion was that long term treatment, with a strong emphasis on trauma resolution, the 12-Steps, life skills, and having fun in recovery, is a significant key to recovery. I also learned that an important aspect of keeping the individual engaged in long term treatment is to help the individual stay connected and motivated to succeed by making it adventurous, not monotonous or institutionalized. Experiencing long term residential treatment allows time to change one’s thinking and one’s behaviors, and many opportunities for restoring self-esteem. And, this is my passion, to help others like myself, others like you, to change.
I believe that addictive behaviors are dysfunctional coping mechanisms used as a way to medicate and escape from pain, shame and trauma. Over time, these dysfunctional behaviors can become a progressive and fatal disease known as “addiction”. Through our comprehensive and individualized holistic approach, individuals are able to identify and address core issues as well as the core features directly related to their addictive behaviors.
Our program engages the union of mind, body and spirit. We build new lives through adventure therapy, equine therapy, ropes & challenge course therapy, nutrition & wellness therapy along with a full range of traditional, experiential and integrated therapies. We place a strong emphasis on trauma resolution, the 12 steps, life skills, social responsibility, and having fun, all to engage a lifelong recovery.
Our goal at Decision Point Center is to offer others, suffering from chronic relapse behaviors, addiction disorders, compulsive behaviors, mental health issues, and underlying trauma, the opportunity of a long term residential treatment program. Our passion at Decision Point is to empower individuals so they are able to make healthy decisions in their lives based upon self-esteem, serenity and recovery.
Now is the time to make the Decision to Point your life toward self-discovery, recovery, and freedom…for this, my friend, is your Decision Point!
Sincerely,
