Equine Assisted Addiction Treatment
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an experiential therapeutic group approach to invoke reactions from clients which act as a mirror for behaviors, emotions, and internal issues. EAP is commonly utilized for the treatment of trauma, but is also effective in helping clients process other on-going therapeutic issues. EAP is based all on ground work and not riding. Clients will work with the horses under the supervision of a certified EAGALA Therapist. Under the supervision of the team, clients learn about themselves and others by processing the horse's responses as well as their own feelings, behaviors, and patterns.
